I'm home

Hello!  
Just got back from Camp Niwana yesterday.  As a former director, cooking (even for 120) is a piece of cake! Molly and I were there for a week.  We are exhausted, but ready for some more summer fun. 

Bathroom update:  Everything that the construction guys did is complete.  Now I get to paint, and add all the goodies.  I would like to paint the walls a blue-gray.  I found some light gray paint in the garage, and went to Lowes and bought a Valspar color sample in blue.  Here it is so far:

 Got rid of the big picture window, and put in glass blocks to keep some natural light.

 The floors are peel and stick vinyl planks from Styleselections in gunstock oak. (this girl is on a budget!) But they really are nice and durable!

And now my pretty blue/gray walls.  I totally mixed the paint myself!  (LOVE doing that!)

I am now working on the cabinets!  Can't wait for the reveal!

And here I am again......

And here I am again.  Several months have passed.  How do people have time to blog? I need more hours in my day.  Who do I speak with to make that happen?

Anyway.........so much has happened in this girls' busy life!  First and foremost, we are FINALLY remodeling our master bathroom! I couldn't be more excited about anything.  I have been living with green striped wallpaper with pheasants all over it for 13 years now! I guess that was pretty back in the day, but goodness that was some ugly stuff!  That, along with some other major plumbing work, we haven't been able to use our bathroom for a couple of years now.  (We don't get around to fixing things in a hurry around here!)  I have before and after pics. SO EXCITED!  

I also have many DIY projects planned for the summer, but I'm having a hard time starting them. School wore me smooth out! 
Here is my list: (how much will get done?)
Paint kitchen cabinets
Paint and retile kitchen table
Paint bar stools
Finish white washing fireplace bricks
Clean and purge out ALL bedrooms
Float in a pool...............

I should have put the last one first.

My NEXT big adventure is I have taken over the HJ Starlettes Drill Team! OMG, what am I thinking................More on that later! (when I figure all this out!)

Wait, WHAT??

It has seriously been a year and a half since I posted an entry? So much for my little hobby on the side.  A LOT has happened since then.  Mostly my children have sprouted before my eyes.  I would love to write more, but this mom/teacher MUST get ready for little dribblers basketball game in a few hours. Then its serious sub plans for next week!  I have a TCEA conference in Austin.

And We're Off

Well, today's the day.  The one I've been dreading for 18 years.  That is when I first "met" my little boy.  We take him to college.  It is so bittersweet.  I am super excited for him, but super sad for me.  He has been gone for weeks at a time before, but this is so permanent.  I don't think I'm "finished" teaching, molding, helping, and learning with him yet!  I NEED MORE TIME.  We will miss him terribly.  He loves life so much and give everything of himself.  (sometimes to a fault) But, that is Michael.  Sigh.......................

Anyway, my classroom is just about ready! I will go up Sunday and tweak a few things.  But for now, it's all about my college boy. :o)

Day 2: School Registration

Good Morning!  It's off to school early today.  I have to register baby girl for 3rd grade today!  We found out her teacher is a dear friend of mine.  She is so excited!  I also MUST work in my room today.  The count down is on, and I'm running out of time!  I really need to go in the evening because there is too much socializing during the day!  Yesterday I got my Math Board put up, and that is about it!  Today, the new mat goes down and I am going to finish my bulletin boards.  Wish me luck!

Summer is officially over, for me anyway.  I must get up early tomorrow!  UGH!  My classroom is SO not ready.  But, it will be by the time the babies get there.  Grammy, my mom, helped me after church on Sunday.  We stayed until about 8:00.  She totally organized my desk for me.  YAY!  I don't know what I would do without her.  She keeps me on task!  It is looking better, and will post pics as soon as it is completely finished.

New Beginnings

Good morning!  I'm off on a semi-new adventure!  A new school year!  I teach 2nd grade and am absolutely in love with these babies! I have taught Pre-K, 3rd and 4th grade. Last year was a particularly interesting one. (sarcasm!)  I had a senior in high school, a freshman, and a 2nd grader! I also had a difficult class.  They were absolutely precious, but the dynamics were a bit, well.......trying at times.  So, I have decided that it is time for new!  I have totally redone my classroom.  I don't really have a theme.  My room was done in blacks, reds and yellows. And, my pattern was Maryenglebreit.com.  It was cute, but always got a hard time because I didn't really have a "theme."  I still don't have a theme, but I changed the red to teal.  SO CA-YUTE!  I will post pics ASAP!  

I am also a Pinterest.com fanatic!  I could spend all day searching for new ideas to make life better.  I am a true optimist. I love spray paint. I love my family and sweet circle of friends.  I have been married to my hubby for 20 years.  We have been a part of each others lives for 27 years.  I couldn't do this without him!

Off to work in my classroom, register one for 3rd grade, work the Band Booster booth, and clean a concession stand!  SHEW!
